My background
I am an enthusiastic and experienced linguist with a career in education and management: I taught French and was head of a modern languages department for many years before moving to a management and pastoral role in a large company where I provided staff with advice and support. For the last three years I have been living and working in France as a translator and interpreter for an international estate agency. As a result of my career path I have an extensive understanding of French institutions, culture, attitudes and practices. I am experienced in translating a wide range of texts, including formal and legal documents, and in acting as an interpreter. I am an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
How I can help you
- Talking to you face to face or on the phone to offer practical answers to your questions or to help resolve problems you may have encountered before, or following your move to France
- Guiding you through the procedures of house purchase and establishing you and your family in France
- Acting as an interpreter at meetings and appointments
- Making phone calls on your behalf
- Translating official documents and forms into English
- Helping you to draft letters and fill in forms in French
